Speaker Profile: Christian Hyldahl

Christian Hyldahl, Managing Director, is the Head of Northern Europe & Senior Advisor, European Pensions for BlackRock. He is a member of the European Client Committee and Global Operating Committee. Before taking up this role in April 2024, he was Head of Continental Europe for BlackRock. Prior to joining BlackRock in October 2019, Christian was CEO of Denmark's largest pension fund, ATP (USD 100bn AuM). ATP is recognised as a leading European pension fund and known for its advanced approach to portfolio construction, factor risk management across the entire investment portfolio and as a thought leader within Stewardship and ESG. Christian joined ATP after 26 years at Nordea, where he had a variety of senior roles such as CEO of Nordea Asset Management, CIO of Nordea Asset Management and Co-Head of Nordea Markets. During his years with Nordea Asset Management (2011-2016) the AuM almost doubled, and Nordea was recognised as one of the fastest growing active asset managers in Europe driven by strong external distribution and strong investment results. Christian has served on the Danish Committee for Corporate Governance and chaired the working group mandated by the Danish Government that developed the first Stewardship Code for Danish institutional investors. He graduated as a M.Sc. in Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and has a Graduate Diploma in Finance from Copenhagen Business School (CBS).
