Speaker Profile: Russell Laver

Russell is Head of Pension Risk Transfer at Aptia and has over 20 years’ experience advising corporates and trustees on strategic pension issues. He has extensive experience across pension scheme governance, accounting disclosures, scheme closures, endgame planning and risk transfer projects, having supported organisations ranging from smaller arrangements to schemes with thousands of members. Having previously acted as Scheme Actuary to several pension schemes, Russell brings both actuarial and corporate perspectives to his advice. He has been involved in more than 100 risk transfer projects, including member option exercises and buy-outs, and is recognised for delivering pragmatic, tailored solutions while successfully managing relationships between sponsors and trustees.
