Speaker Profile: Richard Butcher

Richard Butcher joined PTL in 2008, becoming Managing Director in 2010. He has responsibility for a wide and diverse range of clients with a specific focus on governance in both DB and DC pension schemes. Richard has been involved in pension scheme governance since 1985 and has worked with, or as a, pension scheme independent trustee since 1989. As an independent trustee, Richard is one of the industry’s leading commentators, was recently named in Financial News’ 100 most influential people in pensions and is author of regular blog and article contributions in the industry press. He also holds several key positions within industry associations including the PMI council, and in October 2017 he also took on the role of chair for Pensions and lifetime savings association.
