Imran is Senior Policy Adviser – Pensions & Institutional Market at The Investment Association, working primarily on public policy and regulation affecting the market for pension scheme investment products and services in the UK and Europe. In recent years Imran has led the Investment Association’s work on expanding the role of private assets in the UK DC sector, including through the development of the Long-Term Asset Fund (LTAF) regime and participation in the Bank of England/FCA/HM Treasury-led Productive Finance Working Group. Imran has also worked on a broad range of regulatory issues concerning the role of pension schemes as capital market participants, in the context the global regulatory debate on non-bank financial institutions and financial stability.
Prior to The Investment Association, Imran worked firstly as an Economic Adviser and then Senior Policymaker in the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), spending the latter period of his time there on pensions policy.
