Job Introduction

West Yorkshire Pension Fund (WYPF) administers the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) for over 850 employers based throughout the UK and is valued at over £19bn. We also have a shared service partnership with Lincolnshire Pension Fund, the London Boroughs of Hounslow and Barnet and a number of Fire Authorities for the administration of the Firefighters Pension Schemes. You will be responsible for the delivery of a high quality, innovative service to our clients providing detailed technical analysis, interpretation and support.

You will also contribute to the development of system processes to maintain cost effective and efficient service delivery.

You will be responsible for a number of key pension scheme functions and their associated systems. This includes leading project working groups, testing software, overseeing and authorising changes to working practices, and supporting staff in their delivery of the service.

You will be challenged with handling complex, detailed and ever changing pension legislation and translating that into working practice.

You will assist the Team Manager to manage the staff of the section, and participate in disciplinary processes, training and progression assessments and technical guidance briefings as necessary.

You will have a thorough, well-organised and professional approach to work, with strong individual and team management skills.

You will hold a professional pensions qualification (IPPM, PMI) or an alternative equivalent qualification as well as significant experience of pension scheme administration at a senior level.
