Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful and established membership based organisation and conference business working in the pension industry and offers the chance to use your pensions expertise to help develop our business. We produce over 50 seminars a year for pension funds with 11 membership divisions in the UK, Western Europe and Southern Africa. We are a small and dedicated team with offices in lovely rural surroundings in Welwyn, Hertfordshire.

The role:

You will join the team to work across all of our events and geographies to develop strong relationships with our pension fund members and encourage them to attend our meetings. This is a fast paced role given the number of seminars you will be working on. Over time you will develop relationships with some of the largest institutional investors across the regions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Contacting all new pension fund members by phone or email to introduce them to the organisation and understand their business interests and knowledge requirements to feed back into our topic selection for meetings

  • Engaging with existing clients by phone and email to ensure they are aware of forthcoming events and the benefits of membership, discuss current focus and concerns and secure registrations for future meetings

  • Develop our database to include additional colleagues at the pension funds

  • Establish regular contact with key clients by phone, e-mail and social media

  • Maintain industry knowledge and research new leads, including job changes, in all markets through ongoing internet and publication research

  • Calling non respondents to our campaigns to confirm interest (project work during quieter periods)

  • Occasional attendance at seminars, which may be out of office hours

  • The successful candidate will have several of the following skills:

  • Knowledge of the pensions and investment sector

  • Engaging personality

  • Excellent communication skills for client relationship management

  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
