Are you seeking to move pensions administration roles, and in particular to work for an in-house pension department, as opposed to a TPA or a consultancy? Or perhaps you already work for a small in-house team and are unable to move up and are now considering the benefits of joining a very large in-house scheme? If yes, do you also enjoy working in pension administration, and in particular enjoy the technical aspects of the role and would enjoy a role that combined both? If yes, please do read on, as this exciting role of Pensions Technical Specialist combines both.
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Defined Benefit Pension Specialist to join their team. This role involves providing expert advice, managing complex pension calculations, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and future changes, as well as some data analysis work.
You will be able to manage pension scheme documentation, including trust deeds, rules, and policies and processes and monitor legislative changes and ensure compliance with pension regulations. You are also able to undertake calculations and advice, calculate pension entitlements, lump sums, and tax implications, provide expert advice to employees on pension options and choices, assist with pension transfers and consolidations, deal with complex member queries and any issues that may arise and act as a referral point for more complex technical matters.
You also enjoy dealing with data analysis and reporting and will analyse pension data to identify trends and potential issues, prepare accurate and timely pension reports for management and regulatory bodies, ensure data integrity and security throughout the operations team, and assist with system configuration and automated calculation updates.
You will have a deep understanding of the technical operational aspects of pension schemes, regulations, and industry best practices (UK pensions legislation framework). Good Defined Benefit experience, from working within pensions scheme administration and operations. You are also able to analyse complex pension data and draw meaningful conclusions and problem solve, and your strong verbal and written communications skills will be essential in explaining information, as you build rapport and trust with colleagues and members.
