As the interim (12-month contract) Pensions & Benefits Manager you will be responsible for overseeing, managing and co-ordinating all activities and procedures relating to the Trust-based DC Group Pension Scheme and core benefits including Life Assurance, Healthcare, Group Income Protection, Health Assessments, Electric Vehicle Scheme and Cycle to Work.
As part of your role you will promote employee engagement across the Pension Scheme and core benefits, maintain benefits processes on Workday and oversee budgets, ensuring costs and risks are managed for the Group.
On the 70% pensions side of the role you will Act as Scheme Secretary for Trust Group Pension Scheme (and Life Assurance Scheme). Oversee governance, compliance and regulatory requirements, attend Trustees Meetings and related sub-committees, including preparing and sending of agendas, papers, minutes and other supporting documentation, develop and maintain strong relationships with the Trustees and oversee Pension Scheme Audit including preparing Trustees’ Report and Accounts, which includes managing budgets. You will also manage key third party relationships including providers, consultants and legal advisors, and assist with day-to-day member queries, and undertake any projects during your contract period.
On the 30% benefits side you will manage annual benefits renewals and market reviews, and the Healthcare Master Trust, and efficient end-to-end process for death benefits. You will also be responsible for the Employee Benefits Guide reviews and updates on a regular basis, and strategic development of potential new core benefits and monitoring of overall offering to employees during your contract.
You will be the Point of escalation for day-to-day employee queries, and main contact in respect of employee bereavements; Trustees updates, family liaison, payment of benefits, establishment of Minor Trusts. You will be a good communicator, able to help with simplifying internal complex pension/benefit messages and drafting external communications with pension provider to improve member engagement.
This role has a reporting line to the Head of Payroll & Pensions, and responsibility for managing a Pensions & Benefits Administrator.
