Are you an experienced Pensions Business Analyst looking for a new challenge? Our client is seeking a new Pensions Business Analyst for their London office. You will be working with pension specialists and system development specialists to identify and specify the most appropriate solutions to requirements for changes and improvements. We are looking for someone with an excellent understanding of both DB / CARE pension scheme administration and Systems; as you will be providing effective communication between specialists in these respective areas.

You will work with developers to understand technical options, identify appropriate solutions and agree specifications for system changes. Duties will include defining appropriate testing (functional, user acceptance and regression) to ensure that system changes perform as specified and that they are safe to release into the live environment. You will be responsible for implementing changes to the configuration of system processes and letters and support delivery of major projects by assisting with analysis and development-related work-streams.

Job Description:

The key purpose of this role is work with pension specialists and system development specialists to identify and specify the most appropriate solutions to requirements for changes and improvements. The role requires an understanding of both pension administration and systems, in order to facilitate effective communication between specialists in the respective areas.

Admin & daily duties
• Work with members of the Benefits teams to understand business requirements, provide advice on potential technical solutions and translate requirements into specifications suitable for use by system developers.
• Work with developers to understand technical options, identify appropriate solutions and agree specifications for system changes.
• Define appropriate testing (functional, user acceptance and regression) to ensure that system changes perform as specified and that they are safe to release into the live environment.
• Implement changes to the configuration of system processes and letters.
• Support the UPM Change Management Group with prioritisation of changes, allocation of resources, and progression of system changes.
• Support delivery of major projects by leading analysis and development-related work-streams.
• Undertake analysis of business processes, as required by STC management, in order to understand and resolve issues or to improve efficiency or effectiveness.
• To take responsibility for and organise one’s own work.

Technical
• Knowledge and understanding of pension administration services.
• Knowledge and understanding of SAUL rules.
• Knowledge and understanding of pension administration system functionality including calculations, interfaces, processes, letters system updates, and self-service applications.
• Knowledge and understanding of functional, user acceptance and regression testing.

Customer service
• Proactive approach to ensuring system users are given timely and effective advice and support to resolve system issues and to deliver required system or business process changes.

Strategy
• Understanding the overall business plan and assisting in the prioritisation and resource allocation to achieve the overall business plan objectives.
