You will exercise a significant degree of independent responsibility and will be the lead specialist to current staff and former employees, ensuring compliance with 8 different pension schemes in all relevant legislation. Schemes include DB hybrid, public sector and DC

This role can be worked 100% remotely or hybrid in their Surrey offices.

About the role

• To anticipate, analyse and interpret new legislation and regulation to update process and practice and ensure the schemes remain compliant in all aspects of its employer duties.
• To ensure that scheme changes (e.g. contribution rates) are assessed and oversee the implementation of any necessary changes, especially to Payroll.
• To be responsible for the provision of professional guidance and education on all pension related issues to employees including for tax planning purposes
• Oversee all reporting for each of the 7 pension plans with attendance at internal Committees as necessary
• Ensure compliance with auto-enrolment duties, including oversight of outsource providers and making the necessary Declarations
• Support with modelling the pension aspects of any people planning (e.g. TUPE, redundancies, set up of subsidiaries etc.) including resulting oversight and governance requirements
• Oversee administration of Group Life Assurance schemes, working closely with the HR Advisor (Reward and Policy) on all cyclical pension activities.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, represent at external events, on panels and with schemes and industry bodies
• Working with the Associate Director (People Services) to communicate any changes to Union representatives and all staff in a clear and timely manner, alongside, ensuring the pensions intranet pages and manuals are updated to reflect these
• Oversee annual cycle of documents, reports and events

About you

• PMI Level 4 Certificate in Pension Calculations/Diploma in Pensions Administration qualification or equivalent OR
Significant experience as a senior administrator in manager with Occupation pension schemes (specifically defined benefit).
• Ability to understand the plan documents and explain the requirements to a non-pensions specialist
• Ability to strategically advise as to how to gain best value from each pension plan
• A comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of pension regulations and legislation
• Ability to deal with staff of all levels including very senior colleagues
• Highly numerate
• Working knowledge of Pension Regulations
• Working knowledge of Public Sector pensions
