Blog: Christmas celebrations kick off in pensions

The festive season has already begun in the pensions industry, with industry peers reconnecting at holiday celebrations, reflecting on the past year and the pensions 'must haves' that will be making their Christmas list this year.

Ringing in the holiday cheer, Quietroom has partnered with former Pensions Minister, Baroness Ros Altmann, to launch ‘Christmas Friends’, a Christmas story about pensions.

The narrative tells the story of three new friends, a robin, reindeer and snowflake, talking about personal finance and pensions on a crisp winter's day just before Christmas, and has been published as a book and a video, narrated by Altmann.

“At Quietroom we love celebrating Christmas and our ‘Christmas Friends’ story is our small contribution to this year’s Christmas festivities,” Quietroom director, Simon Grover, stated.

“Pensions and personal finance are complicated. But telling stories and keeping things clear and simple can go a long way in helping pension savers plan and save for their future.

“As an industry, we need to keep striving to improve how we talk to people. While we don’t expect our Christmas Friends story to rival the social media hits of the John Lewis advert, we hope it will bring some Christmas cheer to the pensions community.”

Pension firms are not the only ones preparing for the holidays, as Quietroom confirmed that the Reindeer is now getting ready for Christmas Eve, while the Robin and Snowflake have already gone on Christmas break.
