Members of the Scottish Leather Group pension arrangement have joined Standard Life’s contract-based defined contribution scheme, the Group Flexible Retirement Plan.
The transition has been completed, with Standard Life being appointed following a competitive tender process.
Scottish Leather Group, working with Broadstone as its adviser, sought a workplace pension provider that was able to efficiently transition its employees into a new arrangement, while providing strong governance, member support, and digital capabilities.
To support the transition, a dedicated employer microsite and a programme of member communications were delivered.
The completion of two direct offer transfer value exercises supported members with consolidating their pension savings and engagement.
Scottish Leather Group is a manufacturer of sustainable leather solutions, supplying a range of industries including aviation, automotive, rail, and luxury goods.
"Throughout the selection process, Standard Life demonstrated a strong understanding of our business and our people, with a clear focus on helping members engage with their pensions and plan for the future,” said Scottish Leather Group company secretary, Lesley Chalk.
“Their combination of personal service, digital capabilities and high-quality support gave us confidence they were the right partner, and our experience of working with the team since appointing them has only reinforced our decision.”
Standard Life managing director of workplace and retail intermediary, Emma Furlonger, added: "We're delighted to have been selected as their workplace pension provider and proud of how the transition has been delivered.
“The positive engagement from members reflects the collaborative approach taken by both teams. We look forward to strengthening our relationship with Scottish Leather Group to support their employees throughout their retirement savings journey.”
Broadstone head of client development, David Pye, said the firm had a long-established scheme it was looking to improve on, seeking a provider that could support its long-term ambitions for employee financial wellbeing.
“The review considered a range of providers and propositions, with a focus on service, governance, implementation capability and ongoing support,” he continued.
“Standard Life demonstrated a clear focus and commitment to member outcomes whilst understanding Scottish Leather Group's objectives. We're pleased to have supported Scottish Leather Group through the selection process and transition to this new partnership.”
