Aptia has appointed Jo Tyler as its UK chief operating officer (COO).
Tyler joins Aptia from Mercer, where she served as COO and a member of the UK Executive Leadership Team. Additionally, Tyler served as a trustee director of the Marsh & McLennan Companies (MMC) UK Pension Fund and played a role in the creation of the Mercer Master Trust. Her career spans pensions administration, consulting, governance and operational leadership and held several senior pension administration roles before joining Mercer in 2009. In her new role, she will oversee Aptia's operational strategy and delivery and support the continued growth of the business.
Law Debenture has hired Jonathan Camfield as chair of pensions.
In this newly created role, Camfield will support the strategic development and continued growth of Law Debenture's pensions offering. He will also work closely with Law Debenture’s senior leadership teams to help shape its pensions strategy. He joins the firm after more than 25 years as a partner at LCP. In this role, Camfield advised a range of organisations on pension risks and helped LCP's development and growth.
Jenny Lewis has been appointed as LGPS Central’s general counsel.
The appointment is part of a planned evolution of LGPS Central’s senior structure, designed to support the organisation’s continued growth and development. Lewis has worked at the company since 2019 and previously served as head of legal. She has over 20 years of pensions, legal and governance experience and has worked with clients in the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) sector throughout her career. Before, she worked at Gowling WLG as a director in its pensions team, where she specialised in public sector pensions.
Aegon Asset Management (AM) has appointed Iain McGowan as partnership director.
The newly created role will see McGowan strengthen and grow relationships with some of Aegon AM’s key UK-based institutional partners. He will be based in Edinburgh and report to Aegon AM head of UK client group, Adrian Hull. McGowan has more than 30 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Aegon AM, he was director of investments at Scottish Widows for six years, a member of the Scottish Widows Independent Governance Committee and chaired an overseas fund board. He joined Scottish Widows in 1999 and is a qualified actuary.
