News in brief – 11 August 2023

UK pension provider Smart Pension and Irish health insurance and retirement platform Yonder have partnered to help international employers comply with UK auto-enrolment laws.

The partnership aims to support companies and their UK-based employees to easily administer and enrol in a workplace pension. It uses both firm’s digital capabilities to provide international employers with a way to set up and manage a workplace pension for their UK-based employees and comply with UK auto-enrolment law. Yonder’s dashboard for UK-based employees with international employers is its second workplace retirement offering available since launching earlier this year.

Nest has begun the search for new partner to provide investment custody, fund administration, and related investment services to Nest Corporation.

Nest’s current investment custody and fund administration contract expires in October 2025, with the provider therefore launching a formal process to consider the current offering in the market and how it services may evolve over the coming decade. The contract includes custodian services, asset allocation and rebalancing services, investment performance measurement, investment compliance monitoring, and investment tax services. Nest expects to award the new contract in spring next year.

Quantum Advisory has launched a new cyber security training service for pension trustees.

The service is designed to help trustees develop the skills necessary to avoid falling victim to cyber-attacks by creating a simulated attack. The one-hour training sessions break down the most common cyber security attacks faced by the industry today, in order to teach trustees some of the most effective approaches to analysing cyber risk and the basics of handling incidents when the worst does happen. Utilising a simulated cyber-attack, the service aims to provide trustees with first-hand experience of what a cyber-attack is like and the practical steps necessary to mitigate risk.
