The Pensions Dashboards Programme (PDP) has outlined its proposed approach to collaborating with the industry to deliver private sector dashboards (PSD).
The organisation said it was looking at how to best support the delivery of PSDs, including how to best apply the existing ‘industry participant approach’ model to PSDs.
It believed that the industry participant engagement model, whereby the PDP works with a group of industry organisations to shape the delivery of dashboards, had been a successful approach and wanted to set up a group that replicated this model to support the delivery of PSDs.
Group participants should be those who are planning to operate a dashboard either themselves or with others who have ‘touchpoints’ with the PDP.
The PDP proposed that the group’s remit should include supporting the iteration of standards and guidance, the PDP as it develops the central digital architecture (CDA) functionality to support multiple dashboards, and the development of the process of connection.
Additionally, it proposed the group should facilitate user-testing of PSD front ends, provide support on interpretation of data and design standards, and enable end-to-end testing of dashboard journeys that include PSDs
It also wanted participants to help the PDP understand and develop the support model needed for dashboard operators, and assist the PDP and Maps in understanding and incorporating any necessary changes to the support model for dashboard users.
“It may be necessary to engage smaller sub-groups for specific activities,” the PDP said.
“These might include supporting early-version developments of products or testing of processes, for example, where the make-up of the groups might be dependent on the specific task at hand.”
The PDP also set out its proposals on ways of working, including using the model of governance used for the existing industry participant group.
It is seeking views from all parts of the industry on its proposed approach, especially those considering becoming a dashboard operator, those intending to support those bringing a dashboard to market, and organisations that are part of the existing industry participant group.
The request for feedback is open until 10 February 2026.
