The Pensions Dashboards Programme (PDP) has completed its assessment of the programme challenges following its reset earlier this year, confirming plans to share a further progress update report on the project in “autumn”.
After announcing the dashboards reset earlier this year, Pensions Minister, Laura Trott, recently confirmed that plans for a "new approach to delivery" for pensions dashboards, revealing that whilst a connection deadline of 31 October 2026 would be set in legislation, the remaining staging timeline will instead be set out in guidance.
Work on the reset has been ongoing since, with the latest update from the PDP confirming that it is working “closely” with the Department for Work and Pensions and the Money and Pensions Service’s senior leadership on the reset.
In particular, the PDP confirmed that it has completed an assessment of the programme challenges, which found there are no major issues with the central digital architecture that sits at the core of the pensions dashboards ecosystem.
The PDP is also currently in planning towards the new connection deadline.
However, it stressed the importance industry engagement in getting the new staging timeline "right", confirming that it will be seeking input on what changes are needed, and any challenges with timelines.
To support this, the programme recently set up working groups with industry focussed on what information it should be providing and to get feedback on how to explain things.
Looking further ahead, PDP confirmed that it is also looking to progress the draft standards for dashboards, informed by insight gathered from industry consultations.
In addition to this, development of supporting documentation and the support model for connection is set to begin, with PDP to continue working with early participants on connection and testing.
Further programme updates, including the publication of the PDP's progress update report, are expected to follow in the autumn.
