The Pensions Dashboards Programme (PDP) has confirmed that Altus and ITM will be the first alpha participants to begin testing their connection to the pensions dashboards.
The firms will now begin testing their connection as the project moves into its next development stage, ahead of connecting the first group of staged data providers in 2023.
Altus and ITM said that the announcement recognised the “strong progress” they had made in developing their solution and their readiness to participate in the next stage of testing.
This phase will involve the connection and flow of data being subject to ‘rigorous’ testing to ensure that it is fit for purpose, as well as identifying protocol to prepare other providers to connect.
As the PDP implements its phased roll out of dashboards, which was set out in a government consultation earlier this year, the testing process will see the digital architecture connected and will initially use artificial data.
The project will then move on to real data with the cooperation of volunteer pension providers.
Altus and ITM announced their partnership last year, with the firms becoming the sector’s first commercial pensions dashboards integrated service provider with an open-market connection to dashboards.
Since then, they have also revealed ‘Pension Fusion’, their joint solution to assist data providers to connect to the dashboard ecosystem.
Commenting, ITM chief innovation officer, Maurice Titley, said: “Over the past few months, we have worked very closely with the PDP and we are delighted to be confirmed as first alpha participants.
“This announcement is testament of the trust the PDP has placed in our understanding of the challenges faced by the industry, and recognises that our solution is most advanced and ready to connect pension providers to the pensions dashboards.”
Altus director, Ben Cocks, added: “We are delighted to be able to support the PDP in the next phase of the pensions dashboards implementation.
“Pooling on Altus and ITM’s combined expertise, we are developing a straightforward route to compliance.
“This announcement proves that our dashboard connection solution is the cornerstone of a successful rollout of the pensions dashboard.”
