Appointments update 27 August

• GVO Investment Management Limited is building its investment team with the appointment of Adam Khanbhai as a research analyst.

He will be working alongside the investment team performing analysis and due diligence on existing and potential investee companies. He joins from OC&C Strategy Consultants, where he spent six years as a consultant working on commercial due diligence and strategy projects for corporate and private equity clients.

• Standard Life Investments has made two new appointments to its European business team.

Christopher Andersson has been appointed as investment director for sales in Sweden and will be based in Stockholm reporting to Co- head of European Business and Head of Nordics, Asa Norrie (based in Edinburgh). He was previously Sales Manager at Lannebo Fonder, a boutique asset management firm with a focus on Swedish equities. Before that, he worked in the distribution and client relationship teams at Intervalor in Stockholm.

Alan Simpson has also been appointed as business development manager for Scandinavia. Standard Life Investments now has a team of three dedicated to its Nordic business.

Selcuk Acar joins as business development manager for institutional sales in Germany and Austria. He will be based in Frankfurt and will work with the existing Germany team of three – Frank Richter, Dirk Tiemann and Cayley Brown.

• Eversheds has appointed Mark Latimour as a pensions partner in the firm’s London office.

In addition to his wider pensions expertise, Latimour is well known as one of the UK’s leading pensions investment lawyers. He joins the firm from Linklaters. He will advise employers and trustees on all aspects of pensions law and his specialism is advising on the legal aspects of pension scheme investment.

• Heptagon Capital has hired Citywire AAA rated Christian Diebitsch.

His appointment comes in response to investor requests for a European equity product. Diebitsch has 24 years’ experience in the European equity markets and joins from London based Seilern Investment Management.
