Appointments update – 12 June 2025

Nest has appointed Louise Fitzgerald as its chief financial officer.

Fitzgerald has been serving as interim chief financial officer since March. Prior to joining Nest, she was chief financial officer at British Arab Commercial Bank for three years, where she also held a role as trustee for their defined benefit (DB) pension scheme. Fitzgerald brings more than 25 years’ experience in financial services to Nest, having had responsibility for finance and treasury functions in both investment and commercial banks, dealing in fixed income, equities, mergers and acquisitions, real estate, debt capital markets, trade finance and treasury products and services. In addition to her role as chief financial officer, she will join Nest’s trustee board. Commenting on the appointment, Nest CEO, Ian Cornelius, said: “Since joining Nest in an interim capacity in March, Louise has added immediate value, bringing new ideas and a fresh perspective to financial management, relationship building, and navigating regulatory environments - key areas for the future of Nest. We are delighted that Louise has been appointed as our permanent chief financial officer. I look forward to continuing our work together to ensure our financial management remains robust in support of our purpose to build financial peace of mind for all.”

Future Growth Capital has announced several appointments.

Future Growth Capital has bolstered its investment team with the appointment of Joanne Bugg as head of manager selection and Nick Oliver as senior manager selection analyst. She is also chair of the Investment Advisory Committee at Hertford College, Oxford University, and a member of the City Guild of Investment Managers. Bugg will lead the manager selection team at Future Growth Capital and will report to chief investment officer, Ped Phrompechrut. In this newly created role, she will oversee evaluation and due diligence processes and work closely with the portfolio management team to execute investment strategy. Oliver joins from Schroders where he helped manage pension solutions. Nick previously worked at Centrica, helping to manage its pension portfolio. Both appointments are effective immediately.
