First Actuarial has promoted four staff to partner and eight staff to associate partner.

The four individuals who have been promoted to partner are Marcos Abreu, Andrew Allsopp, Carl Fletcher and Scott Harrison. Abreu, Allsopp, Fletcher and Harrison have all progressed through associate partnership. Allsopp joined First Actuarial two years ago and previously was an owner of Quattro, a Midlands-based pensions consultancy acquired by Broadstone. Abreu joined First Actuarial in 2019 and has nine scheme actuary appointments. Meanwhile, Fletcher is an actuary and is also head of benefit corrections and data audit services at First Actuarial. Finally, Harrison is an actuary who has spent 17 years working at First Actuarial. Additionally, Emily Brown, Michael Davies, Mark Frost, Claire Fuller, Robert Hurst, Marcus Johansson, Stephen Kilgannon and Rob Skelton were promoted to associate partner. The eight new associate partners bring the total number to 21.

Dalriada has appointed Kate Tollis as senior pensions manager.

Tollis has over 30 years of experience in pensions, governance and secretariat. She has held several senior positions at Independent Governance Group, BA Pension, and Brightwell. She is also a fellow of the Pensions Management Institute (PMI) and has been awarded the Association of Pension Lawyers Law Prize. She also holds the PMI Award in Pension Trusteeship and the CFA Investment Foundations Certificate.

AJ Bell has announced the appointment of Michael Sawh as senior portfolio manager at AJ Bell Investments.

Sawh has held a range of investment management and research roles across single and multi-asset investment portfolios at Swiss Re, GAM, Bfinance and SCM Private. He will report to AJ Bell head of investment solutions, James Flintoft. In his new role, he will support portfolio management on AJ Bell’s model portfolio service and multi-asset funds. Commenting on the appointment, Flintoft said: “[Sawh's] extensive investment management experience will support continued growth in the business, and it’s a pleasure for us to have him on board.”
