Appointments update 15 March 2022

Standard Life has announced three new hires to its defined benefit (DB) solutions business.

The company, which is part of Phoenix Group, appointed Kieran Mistry as senior business development manager, bringing with him a decade of pension consulting experience, predominantly focused on pension risk transfer. Alongside this, Alex Webb and Lauren Doherty have been appointed as pricing actuaries. Webb joins the team from WTW, where he was consultant advising trustees of pension schemes, whilst Doherty joins from PwC.

The trustee of the National Grid Electricity Group of the Electricity Supply Pension Scheme has appointed Barnett Waddingham (BW) to provide specialist services.

Under the appointment, BW will provide a variety of services to support trustees, including actuarial, investment and IRM strategy, from the beginning of March. The current in-house trustee executive and member engagement services will also be moved to the provider. The scheme will be guided by BW Partner Paul Jayson who will be supported by BW principal, Christine Kerr, BW Partner, David Moreton, and associate, Steph Gold.

Isio has named Ed Wilson as a partner in its investment advisory team.

Wilson brings more than 30 years’ pensions and investment experience to the role, joining from WTW, where he was head of corporate investment consulting. Prior to this, he also held senior leadership positions at PwC and HSBC. He will be based in the London office, and will focus on supporting the Isio investment business, including helping to grow and develop the team and drive new business opportunities.
