Ross Trustees has named Richard Cousins as a trustee director.
An actuary by training, Cousins has experience in advising a range of clients on all aspects of DB pension schemes, particularly in relation to corporate transactions, restructuring and funding. Prior to joining Ross Trustees, Cousins was a PwC partner, leading the firm’s pension funding solutions group, and has held roles at Sedgwick Noble Lowndes. He is also a member of the PMI, and a fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.
The Pensions Management Institute (PMI) has appointed Varsha Gicas as director of commerce and engagement.
In the newly created role, reporting to chief executive officer, Gareth Tancred, Gicas will oversee all commercial, marketing event and membership activities, including oversight of engagement with corporate partners, with individual members, and with PMI’s regional communities. Previously, she spent over five years at the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association (PLSA), and was most recently head of sales and client relations, before joining the PMI in July 2020 as senior sales manager.
Local Pensions Partnership Investments (LPPI) has announced the appointment of Louise Warden as head of real estate.
Reporting to head of private markets, Simon Davy, Warden will be responsible for managing LPPI’s real estate portfolio as part of the firm's broader asset management and capital deployment objectives. She initially joined LPPI as real estate portfolio manager in August 2019, having previously been responsible for managing direct and indirect property portfolios of West Yorkshire Pension Fund, as well as working for the sovereign wealth fund of Abu Dhabi.
