TPT Retirement Solutions has appointed Georgie Edwards as head of defined contribution (DC).
Edwards, who will report directly to TPT DC director, Philip Smith, joins the firm from Fidelity International, where she worked on improving employer experience and proposition development. Prior to this, she provided DC consulting services to corporates and trustees while at LCP and PwC. Her new role is set to see her play a key role in the development of TPT’s new DC product, which is expected to launch in 2024. Commenting on the appointment, Edwards stated: "I am delighted to be appointed as the head of DC for TPT. I look forward to working alongside the talented team here to build on our strong foundation and deliver outstanding retirement solutions that empower individuals to achieve their retirement goals."
Mercer has appointed David Morrow to the new role of insurance propositions leader for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
In the newly created role, Morrow will lead on the further development and implementation of Mercer’s investment proposition and services to insurers across the advisory and solution space. He brings more than 15 years’ experience with European insurers to the role, joining from BNY Mellon, where he was responsible for the company’s largest insurance relationships in Europe. Prior to that, he spent eight years at DWS, primarily focusing on the company’s European insurance clients. He is also a chartered financial analyst and has worked in financial services sector for over 20 years.
The British Coal Staff Superannuation Scheme (BCSSS) has named Cheryl Agius as a trustee director and chair of the scheme.
She will join the scheme’s trustee board, which is made up of four independent trustees and four trustees elected by the membership. Agius takes over from current chair, Dame Kate Barker, who will step down after nine years in the role. She is currently a non-executive director on two Aviva Life boards, and has had an extensive career in pensions and insurance, most notably as CEO in Legal & General’s General Insurance Business, and prior to that as their UK strategic retirement director. Commenting on the appointment, Barker stated: “It's been a real privilege to have served as chair of trustees for the BCSSS and I leave the scheme with a great sense of pride at what the pension scheme achieves. I am delighted to hand over to Cheryl as chair, given her skills and experience which will be a tremendous asset to the scheme as it continues to serve its members.”
