Appointments update 4 March 2020

Standard Life Assurance has announced three board appointments to the Standard Life Master Trust Co Ltd.

Catherine McKenna, a partner at Squire Patton Boggs, has over 30 years’ experience in the pensions industry as a qualified solicitor, trustee and board member. Fellow new board member Andrew Davies also has more than three decades of experience in the industry, most recently serving as director of marketing strategy and customer insight for AXA UK & Ireland. They will be joined by Caroline Escott, who is investment and stewardship policy lead at the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association and has served as head of public policy at the UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association.

TPT Retirement Solutions has hired Phillip Smith as DC director and Joy Mahon as head of DC.

Smith, who has more than three decades of experience, has been enlisted from PwC and has previously held senior roles with Buck Consultants, Opus Holdings and Health Group. Mahon joins from Aviva, having previously helped the likes of Aon and Willis Towers Watson develop their pension offerings in a career spanning more than 15 years.

Law Debenture has appointed new director Sally Minchella to its pensions team.

Minchella joins following a 19-year stint at Willis Towers Watson, where she was a senior director in the retirement team. She has advised both companies and trustees in relation to schemes ranging from £15m to £2bn, and has expertise in funding, de-risking, scheme restructuring, offshore arrangements and corporate activity.
