Appointments update - 8 May 2025

Aviva Master Trust has appointed Chris Noon as chair.

Noon boasts more than 30 years of experience in the UK pensions market, collaborating with employers and engaging directly with master trusts. He is an experienced chair and non-executive director, having previously been the chair of the board at Hymans Robertson. Noon will start his new role as chair on 12 May 2025, succeeding Elizabeth Renshaw-Ames, who has been chair of the Aviva Master Trust since 2020. Commenting on Noon’s appointment, Aviva Master Trust head, Louise Williamson, said Aviva was “delighted” to have Chris join, bringing his diverse leadership and industry experience to the role.

Broadstone has announced the appointment of Bill Pedersen as non-executive director.

Pedersen has extensive experience in the financial services sector with a career spanning 35 years at Milliman. In his time spent at Millman, he was chief financial officer for 20 years and spent his last five years as the firm’s first chief operating officer prior to his retirement in 2020. Commenting on his appointment, Pedersen said: “Broadstone has a fantastic pedigree delivering expert consultancy services to employers, insurers, lenders and pension scheme trustees. I am delighted to join the business as it looks to develop its proposition and establish itself as a leader in the insurance actuarial consultancy market.”

Vidett has appointed Alison Hatcher as head of trusteeship.

Hatcher recently stepped down as a non-executive director of The Pensions Regulator (TPR), where she has helped to bring commercial and industry insight to the board. She has also been acting as an independent consultant within the industry, working on several projects, including advising on scheme consolidation and transition to master trusts, guiding regulatory and commercial requirements. Hatcher has extensive experience in the pensions industry, including asset management, pension structuring (defined benefit (DB), defined contribution (DC) and consolidators) and digital platforms. She previously held the role of CEO at HSBC Retirement, is a former non-executive director of the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association. In addition to this, she is one of the founders of Women in Pensions and an accredited professional trustee.
