DCIF appoints new chair and vice chair

The Defined Contribution Investment Forum (DCIF) has named Lindsay Nickerson as its new chair and Anil Shenoy as its vice chair.

Nickerson previously served as vice chair of the DCIF and is an institutional director at Nordia Asset Management.

She formerly spent a decade at Aon as an investment consultant, specialising in DC investment within its master trust and manager research businesses.

The DCIF said Nickerson’s leadership will help it foster collaboration that prioritises high-quality investment, effective stewardship and long-term value creation for members.

Former DCIF chair, Dave Whitehair, has now become immediate past chair of the group and will remain on its board until the end of 2026.

Meanwhile, Shenoy has become vice chair and is currently part of IFM Investors’ UK client solutions team, where he focuses on building and managing relationships with UK institutional investors.

He previously spent five years as head of UK institutional at Janus Henderson, after earlier investment and consulting roles at PwC and Standard Life.

Commenting on her appointment, Nickerson said: “DC outcomes depend on how different elements come together in practice, including how assets are invested.

“By bringing together investment expertise from across the industry, the DCIF can cut through the noise and focus on delivering long-term value for members who rely on DC the most.

“I would like to thank Dave Whitehair for his outstanding leadership as chair last year and his continued commitment to the DCIF. I look forward to working with members to build on that strong foundation.”

Shenoy added: “This will be a pivotal year for DC pensions as key reforms take shape, from Value for Money frameworks in the Pension Schemes Bill to new guidance requirements for members at retirement.

“These developments, alongside continued focus on investment outcomes and member experience, make the DCIF’s work especially important in helping trustees and providers navigate change.

“I look forward to driving work that highlights real-world challenges and opportunities for DC schemes, supporting trustees and investors to deliver better outcomes for members.”

The DCIF is a not-for-profit research group aimed at promoting investment excellence in DC pensions.
