Local Pensions Partnership (LPP) launches first pooled LGPS real estate fund.

LPP has set up the LPPI Real Estate Fund to pool the property assets of three public sector pension schemes that it manages. It has been launched with over £800m of property investment assets and a further £460m of property assets are due to transition into the fund “over the coming months”. It is expected to reach around £2bn of assets under management.

LGPS Central Limited has launched its All World Equity Climate Multi Factor Fund.

The fund brings together £2.1bn work of partner fund assets under management. The local pension schemes that initially invested into the fund at its launch were the West Midlands Pension Fund and the Cheshire Pension Fund. The fund has been designed to consider the risks and opportunities associated with climate change, and at the same time achieve superior investment returns over the long term.

Barnett Waddingham has become the first investment consultancy to support Pensions for Purpose.

Pensions for Purpose is a collaborative initiative comprised of investment managers, pension funds and social enterprises, which promotes and shares knowledge on impact investment-related issues.
