The Society of Pension Professionals (SPP) has expanded its educational video library with two new additions to its 'Beginner’s Guides' and 'SPP Insights' series, focusing on pensions adequacy and the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in the pensions sector.
The latest videos feature industry experts discussing key developments in the pensions landscape.
SPP defined contribution (DC) committee chair, Martin Willis, shared insights on DC pensions adequacy, while SPP council member, Matthew Giles, discussed the growing role of AI within the pensions industry.
Both experts were interviewed by members of the SPP’s Early Career Professionals Group as part of the initiative to support learning and professional development within the sector.
Meanwhile, the SPP’s 'Beginner’s Guides' series offered short videos of around 10 minutes each, designed to introduce key aspects of the pensions industry.
Topics covered in the series included environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations, pensions tax relief, collective defined contribution (CDC) schemes and public sector pensions.
These resources were complemented by the “SPP Insights” video series, which explored more complex or topical issues in greater depth.
Previous topics have included superfunds, decumulation solutions and defined benefit (DB) surplus release.
All videos in both series are available free of charge, including to non-members of the SPP.
SPP Early Career Professionals Group chair, Tom Hill, noted that the growing library now offered a broad overview of the pensions landscape.
“The SPP now has a comprehensive suite of Beginner’s Guides and Insights videos covering topics from public sector pensions, CDC and the state pension to ESG, superfunds and tax relief,” he stated.
“They offer an easily accessible introduction to relevant subjects, and a mark of their popularity is evidenced by the fact they were viewed on more than 60,000 occasions last year.
“I would recommend them to any early career professionals but also to anyone with an interest in finding out more about different areas of the pensions world.”
The videos are available through the recorded resources section of the SPP website.
