T. Rowe Price appoints Richard Parkin as head of UK retirement

T. Rowe Price has announced the appointment of Richard Parkin as head of UK retirement, effective from 9 March 2026.

Parkin has more than 35 years of experience in the pensions and retirement sector, having held senior positions at BNY Investments and Fidelity International, as well as serving on several industry bodies.

T. Rowe Price said his appointment underscored its commitment to improving its retirement proposition in the UK and supporting clients with navigating an increasingly complex retirement landscape.

At the global asset management and retirement firm, Parkin will be responsible for the development and execution of T. Rowe Price’s UK retirement strategy, driving product innovation and growth across its institutional and retail businesses.

He is also expected to play a key role in engaging with clients, regulators, and industry stakeholders to contribute to the development of the UK retirement sector and deliver strong outcomes for investors.

“We are pleased to welcome Richard to our leadership team,” commented T. Rowe Price head of EMEA, UK and Ireland distribution, Nataline Terry.

“His deep industry expertise and strategic perspective will be invaluable as we continue to build our retirement business in the UK.

“By combining T. Rowe Price’s long-standing global capabilities with Richard's extensive experience, we aim to help clients achieve better retirement outcomes.”

Parkin added: “I am excited to be joining T. Rowe Price at such a pivotal time for the UK retirement market.

“Continuing regulatory focus, new legislation, and changing client needs mean advisers and providers are having more complex conversations, centred on personalised retirement planning, balancing income sustainability, tax efficiency and longevity risk.

“The talented and experienced team at T Rowe Price has done some great work, and I look forward to working with them to develop and deliver innovative retirement solutions to help UK clients navigate these choices with confidence.”
