The Pensions Regulator (TPR) has confirmed that it is making updates to the Trustee Toolkit, with some of the updated modules already available in a testing phase, and more expected to follow towards the end of the year.
TPR confirmed to Pensions Age that it is currently updating the Trustee Toolkit, which is intended to help trustees of occupational pension schemes meet the minimum level of knowledge and understanding required by law.
Some updated modules are already available in a beta phase, including Introducing Pension Schemes, The Trustee’s Role, Running a Scheme, Pensions Law, and How a defined contribution (DC) Scheme Works.
Work is also underway on the defined benefit (DB) modules, with the first beta versions for these expected toward the end of the year.
In addition to this, TPR confirmed that it is also reviewing its investment-related modules.
The work is expected to support TPR's broader aim of ensuring trustees have access to high-quality learning that meets the expectations set out in its general code, building on the recent news that TPR is also looking to share guidance on what good trusteeship later this year.
A spokesperson for TPR said: “We are updating the Trustee Toolkit to ensure it continues to provide trustees with accurate, accessible and engaging learning content reflecting the latest regulatory and legislative developments.
“Updates include refreshed content, improved accessibility, updated graphics, and a move to new software that will support more interactive learning.
"However, the core structure of the toolkit and the way users access and complete modules will remain the same.”
Users completing the beta versions of the modules will be offered the opportunity to complete a feedback form on the beta course page below the learning module.
