Appointments update - 16 June 2025

Aon has appointed Ben Roe as head of UK retirement.

Roe will take up his position as head of UK retirement within wealth solutions immediately. He is currently a senior partner and head of defined contribution (DC) consulting in the UK, as well as Aon's global DC wealth strategy leader. Roe joined Aon 21 years ago and has worked with trustee and corporate clients and across both defined benefit (DB) and DC pension schemes. He will report to Aon head of wealth solutions EMEA, Michael Clare, and to Aon UK, Ireland and South Africa CEO, Jane Kielty. Commenting on the appointment, Clare said: “Ben Roe has led teams for 10 years within the UK retirement practice and has consistently demonstrated his ability to provide strategic direction and to grow the business. I have enjoyed working with him over that time and look forward to the impact he will now make in this new leadership role.”

HS Trustees has announced the appointment of Palwinder Hare as a professional trustee.

Hare is an accredited professional trustee (professional trustee, Pensions Management Institute accredited) and is currently a trustee director with two large pension schemes. In addition to the trustee boards, he serves on board committees covering governance, administration, audit, risk, investment and funding. He expands the specialisms at HS Trustees which cover sustainability, investment, administration, governance, master trust, de-risking, with-profits and now legal. Hare has more than 35 years of corporate legal experience in mergers & acquisitions (M&A), project finance and commercial matters gained in financial services, telecom/hi-tech, conglomerate and industrial sections. Until recently, he was Standard Chartered head of group legal for M&A and corporate, where he was responsible for the group's M&A transactions, corporate matters and legal support for group functions and governance issues.

Fulcrum Asset Management has appointed Luke Sadrian as portfolio manager.

Sadrian will work within the company’s discretionary team, specialising in commodities and joins from Rokos Capital Management, where he was a partner and investment officer for two years. In his career, he has held several role,s including chief investment officer at two specialist commodities hedge funds, Sadrian Bowman Capital and Commodities World Capital. Sadrian was also a commodities portfolio manager at Moore Capital, a commodities portfolio manager and partner at Brevan Howard and head of metals derivatives trading at Goldman Sachs. Commenting on the appointment, Fulcrum Asset Management chief investment officer, Suhail Shaikh, said Fulcrum was “delighted” to be welcoming “such a seasoned” commodities portfolio manager to the discretionary team.
