The Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) has appointed Steve Heeley and Rob Horsnall as investment managers for infrastructure. Steve Deeley was director in the infrastructure asset management team at UBS Global Asset Management for over four years where he focused on regulated utilities. Rob Horsnall is an internal appointment, promoted from his senior analyst role in private markets at USS. Both positions report to Gavin Merchant, senior investment manager for infrastructure.

Legal & General Investment Management has appointed Lindsay Tomlinson as non-executive director. He joins from Barclays Global Investors where he was UK CEO in 1994 and Pan European CEO in 1996. He became the firm’s vice-chairman and remained with the firm during the integration process when BlackRock acquired BGI in 2009, before retiring in 2011. He was previously a chairman of the NAPF in 2009-2011, a director of the Financial Reporting Council and is chairman of the Code Committee of the Takeover Panel.

JLT Investment Consulting has appointed Vathani Waran as an investment consultant in London. She was recently at BlackRock Investment Management with over ten years experience in investment consulting with P-Solve and Aon Hewitt and has an MSc in Actuarial Management at Cass Business School.
