Appointments update - 20 January 2025

Royal London has appointed Isabel Hudson as chair and non-executive director (NED), with effect from 10 February 2025.

Lynne Peacock, current interim chair, will step down from the Royal London board on 9 February 2025. Hudson is currently a NED at AXA SA and Guide Dogs chair. Among other roles, she has served on the boards of RSA Insurance Group plc, Phoenix Group Holdings, BT, National House Building Council, The Pensions Regulator and Standard Life. Royal London Group chief executive officer, Barry O’Dwyer, said: “Isabel is an excellent choice to be the next chair of the board of Royal London. I am looking forward to working with her to deliver even more for the customers we serve. I also want to thank Lynne Peacock, interim chair, who will be stepping down from the board, and I wish her every success for the future.”

Pensions for Purpose has appointed Laasya Shekaran as director.

Shekaran joins Pensions for Purpose after nearly eight years at LCP where she progressed from an investment analyst to a senior investment consultant. Shekaran, a CFA charterholder, has also been a speaker at industry events and conferences, as well as a podcast host. Commenting on her appointment, Shekaran said she is “excited” to join and is looking forward to working alongside a “passionate and committed” team to drive “meaningful” change in the industry.

LCP has appointed partner Holly McArthur as head of sole trusteeship.

McArthur has over a decade of experience working with trustees and corporates. She is also a senior member of LCP’s Professional Trustee Engagement Programme. In her new role, she will lead LCP’s engagement and relationships with professional trustee firms on sole trustee services, oversee the development of LCP’s offering to enhance efficiencies to reflect sole trustees’ streamlined approaches and best practice delivery models. McArthur commented: “We are seeing more and more companies opting for a sole trustee appointment to meet the growing demand for efficiencies and increased governance burden for schemes.”
