Gov.UK One Login selected as pensions dashboards identity service provider

The Pensions Dashboards Programme (PDP) has confirmed that Gov.UK One Login will be the identity service provider for anyone using the dashboards service.

The platform is expected to provide a secure and easy way for people to be able to prove their identity for pensions dashboards when they become publicly available.

Provided by the UK government, Gov.UK One Login ensures users only have to prove their identity once and can use this proof to access other services they use, saving time and effort.

This means users who have already registered to use government services through Gov.UK One Login will not have to prove their identity again when registering to use the dashboards service.

Commenting on the news, PDP principal, Chris Curry, said: “Pensions dashboards will be a transformative tool for retirement planning, but it’s also crucial that the service is safe and secure.

"The identity service will make sure that people cannot fraudulently access other people’s information on a dashboard.

“Gov.UK One Login is a proven identity service used across government, meaning that a user who has already registered with this service will find it simple to verify their identity to use the dashboards service.”
