Nest has set up an evergreen timberland fund with Campbell Global.

Campbell Global, which is J.P. Morgan Asset Management’s timberland investment advisory company, has been appointed by Nest to provide the pension scheme with a global portfolio of direct investment, focused on core traditional timberland. The appointment follows a competitive tender process in which 12 fund managers applied to offer Nest access to sustainably managed timberland.

Husky Finance has partnered with Swoop Funding with the aim of “transforming” the value of workplace pensions to small and medium-sized enterprises (SME).

The collaboration seeks to simplify pension enrolment and streamline payroll processes to make it easier for businesses to introduce salary exchange options through a single platform. The firms hope that, through the integrated platform, SMEs can save time, reduce risk and save money. Husky is a specialist in the automation of workplace pensions, payroll and salary exchange, while Swoop offers a range of funding and savings solutions aimed at supporting businesses’ financial health.

Penfold Pension has reached £500m in assets under administration.

This represents a doubling of assets from £250m over the past 12 months and more than triple its £139m of assets at the start of 2023. This follows the recent closure of a £2.9m top-up funding round led by its existing shareholders, jointed by its Crowdcube community, which closed between March and June 2024. Penfold said that its growth was driven by the expansion of its workplace pension offering, which was enabled by a proprietary technology platform that helps accountancy firms and payroll bureaus streamline their clients’ auto-enrolment obligations.
